[ PROCLAMATION NO. 161, September 16, 1963 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 8 TO 14, 1963, AS GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES’ WEEK.



WHEREAS, it is necessary that government employees be encouraged to achieve greater efficiency in the public service;

WHEREAS, the attainment of this objective demands that public attention be focused on the invaluable services rendered by government employees;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from December 8 to 14, 1963, as Government Employees’ Week. I call upon all citizens and residents, of the Philippines as well as all schools and civic organizations to turn their thoughts to the honest, loyal and devoted government employees in grateful appreciation of the services rendered by them. The Week should likewise be devoted to the attainment of maximum service efficiency and the highest degree of harmony and cooperation between the public and the employees.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 16th day of September, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-three.
