[ PROCLAMATION NO. 201, February 16, 1964 ]

DECLARING MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 1964, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF ILOCOS SUR



WHEREAS, the ninety-second anniversary of the martyrdom of Father Jose Burgos fails on February 17, 1964; and

WHEREAS, the people of Ilocos Sur, his birthplace, should he afforded full opportunity to observe the event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Diosdado Macapagal President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Monday, February 17, 1964, as a special public holiday in the province of Ilocos Sur.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 16th day of February, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-four.
