[ PROCLAMATION NO. 360, December 19, 1952 ]

MAKING PUBLIC THE CONVENTION ON ROAD TRAFFIC WITH ITS TEN ANNEXES FORMING INTEGRAL PARTS THEREOF, SUBJECT TO A DECLARATION.



WHEREAS, the Convention on Road Traffic with its ten Annexes forming integral parts thereof was concluded and signed at Geneva, Switzerland on September 19, 1949, by the authorized representative of the Philippines, subject to a declaration made in accordance with paragraph 1 of article 2 of this Convention, excluding Annex 1 from its application with respect to the Philippines;

WHEREAS, the Senate of the Philippines by its Resolution No. 88, adopted on May 5, 1952, concurred in the ratification of the aforesaid Convention in accordance with the Constitution of the Philippines;

WHEREAS, the said Convention was duly ratified by the President of the Philippines, and the instrument of ratification thereof was deposited with the Secretary-General of the United Nations on September 15, 1952;

WHEREAS, the said Convention entered into force for the Philippines on October 15, 1952;

NOW, THEREFORE, be it known that I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, in pursuance of the aforesaid concurrence of the Senate of the Philippines, do hereby make public the Convention on Road Traffic with its ten Annexes forming integral parts thereof, subject to a declaration excluding Annex 1 from its application with respect to the Philippines, a true copy of which is hereto attached, which was concluded at Geneva on September 19, 1949, to the end that the same and every article and clause thereof may be observed and fulfilled with good faith by the Republic of the Philippines and the citizens thereof.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 19th day of December, nineteen hundred and fifty-two, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the seventh.
