[ PROCLAMATION NO. 19, January 06, 1947 ]

CALLING FOR SPECIAL ELECTION TO FILL EXISTING VACANCIES IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.



WHEREAS, the Speaker of the House of Representatives has certified that the following vacancies exist in the membership of the said body:

First Representative District of Iloilo

Fifth Representative District of Pangasinan

Sole representative District of Bukidnon

NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority conferred upon me by section 17 of Commonwealth Act No. 357, known as the Election Code, I, Manuel Roxas, President of the Philippines, hereby issue this a proclamation and call a special election to take place on Tuesday, the 11th day of March, 1947, in the following representative districts of the provinces in the Philippines for the purpose of electing the members who are to fill the unexpired portion of the term of the existing vacancies in the House of Representatives, to wit:

First Representative District of Iloilo

Fifth Representative District of Pangasinan

Sole Representative District of Bukidnon

The provisions of the Election Code insofar as they are applicable shall be followed in the conduct of the special election herein called.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done at the City of Manila, this 6th day of January, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-seven, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the first.
