DECLARING DECEMBER 1, 2005 TO NOVEMBER 30, 2006 AS THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES COLLEGE OF MEDICINE CENTENNIAL YEAR



WHEREAS, the University of the Philippines College of Medicine (UPCM) is recognized as the country’s premier medical school;

WHEREAS, the UPCM has made significant contributors to medical science and health of the nation since it was founded on December 1, 1905;

WHEREAS, in 2005, the UCPM celebrates its one hundred years of existence;

WHEREAS, in order to enhance awareness of its contributions to national health development, and its leadership and achievements in medical education and health research, it is fitting that the occasion is marked and commemorated by appropriate activities and festivities throughout the nation venues, here and abroad, where UPCM publics are present.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare December 1, 2005 to November 30, 2006 as the University of the Philippines College of Medicine Centennial Year.

IN WITHNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 30th day of November, in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Five.
