ENJOINING ALL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES TO SUPPORT THE 2012 GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES WEEK ON DECEMBER 2 TO 8 2012



Pursuant to Proclamation No. 1130 (s. 1997), the first week of December of every year has been declared as National Government Employees’ Week. The proclamation aims to recognize the invaluable services rendered by deserving government employees and to underscore their contribution to nation building.

For this year’s celebration of the National Government Employees’ Week, the theme is “Government Employees: United in Ensuring Social Protection, Welfare and Economic Development.”

In this regard, officials and employees in all departments, bureaus and agencies of the national government, including government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs), government financial institutions (GFIs) and state universities and colleges, as well as local government units and government employees organizations are hereby enjoined to observe and participate in appropriate activities for a meaningful observance and celebration of National Government Employees’ Week in coordination with other concerned agencies.

This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.
